What vegas does right with spas, and you should too.
It’s a tough day at work for The Massage Millionaire. I’m laying by the newly renovated spa at The Palms in Vegas working on an advanced education class. It’s when I’m here that I notice something. The Little Things. Vegas my be the city of BIG, BRIGHT and OVER THE TOP, but Vegas has their game on little things on lockdown!
walking through the spa that is being build, this dedicated team of spa experts are spending a tremendous amount of time focusing on THE LITTLE THINGS. Like , systematically folding and refolding the robes with a focus on detail like an Italian Bespoke shoe maker. The toiletries are carefully arranged on a tray, and a team is deciding if they should use two or three gold plates to hold them all, and how to arrange them.
Logo stamped napkins, team T-shirt’s, carefully crafted phone scripts. It’s as endless as their all you can eat buffets.
So your saying to yourself, “Sure, if I had millions of dollars to spend, I could have all this also!” Yes, it would be easier with a bag full of money. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have it.
Thats where The Massage Millionaires come in. We teach in Forbes resorts, but we are here to also help the #tinyspas , the traveling therapist and the one room resorts. We curate tips , tricks and ideas from our world and share them with you. Without further delay, here are some ideas for you to start today.
Spend time looking at each area and thing your guests touch. Ask yourself, with your eyes closed, what does this feel like. What impression does it give? Open your eyes and see if that feeling is still there. If the look and touch and feeling doesn’t match your image of your spa, replace it, repurpose it or redo it.
Pick one thing a month to customize. Maybe it is your towels in the bathroom or sheets.. Embroider them with your logo. Trade services with someone who can embroider. Next month choose the pens at the front desk, then coffee cups. I love Vistaprint for ideas that are affordable and have low order quantity. Another favorite is Zazzle.
Hire / Trade services with an interior decorator or follow one in Instagram and practice resetting a room using their style to give your guests a new impression of your space. Clean, crisp, functional and luxurious should all come to your guests mind. If you have equipment that is seen but an eyesore, hide it with a room divider or remove it all together. I love following #TheTinySpa for inspiring room designs. Jamie has a way of helping her clients redesign their spa rooms with humble budgets and making a huge impact.
